- Reports R1, R1.2–1.2.2, R1.2.4–1.3, R5–8, R15–57 (CW, 1–28, 31–37, 46–56, 95–141); Overture 8-06 (CW, 440)
- WHEREAS, Concordia Publishing House (CPH) serves as the official publishing arm of the Synod, providing essential
- Lutheran resources, books, curricula, and materials to support the faith, teaching, and mission of congregations, church
- workers, and individual members; and
- WHEREAS, It is projected the cost of free shipping could be upwards of $4 million annually, which would cause
- financial repercussions that are unaffordable and unsustainable for CPH; and
- WHEREAS, We give thanks for CPH and its efforts to reduce shipping costs and make its resources readily available.
- Examples of this include the church resource program which provides free shipping and a 20 percent discount on orders
- of $60.00 or more for congregations, free shipping and a 20 percent discount on orders of $49.00 or more for rostered
- church workers, and sales to Amazon and local Christian bookstores that allow free shipping; therefore be it
- Resolved, That the Synod in convention commend CPH for keeping costs to a reasonable level and that they continue
- to pursue opportunities to lower cost of shipping where possible.
