  2. RESOLUTION 8-07
  3. Reports R1, R1.2–1.2.2, R1.2.4–1.3, R5–8, R15–57 (CW, 1–28, 31–37, 46–56, 95–141); Overture 8-06 (CW, 440)
  4. WHEREAS, Concordia Publishing House (CPH) serves as the official publishing arm of the Synod, providing essential
  5. Lutheran resources, books, curricula, and materials to support the faith, teaching, and mission of congregations, church
  6. workers, and individual members; and
  7. WHEREAS, It is projected the cost of free shipping could be upwards of $4 million annually, which would cause
  8. financial repercussions that are unaffordable and unsustainable for CPH; and
  9. WHEREAS, We give thanks for CPH and its efforts to reduce shipping costs and make its resources readily available.
  10. Examples of this include the church resource program which provides free shipping and a 20 percent discount on orders
  11. of $60.00 or more for congregations, free shipping and a 20 percent discount on orders of $49.00 or more for rostered
  12. church workers, and sales to Amazon and local Christian bookstores that allow free shipping; therefore be it
  13. Resolved, That the Synod in convention commend CPH for keeping costs to a reasonable level and that they continue
  14. to pursue opportunities to lower cost of shipping where possible.
