To Begin Preparations for New Hymnal

WHEREAS, The Lutheran Service Book (LSB) was first published as a hymnal of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in 2006 and encouraged for use for every congregation; and

WHEREAS, Much new music, including that developed by The Songwriter Initiative (Center for Worship Leadership at Concordia University, Irvine), which is faithful to Lutheran teachings, is available but not in the LSB; therefore be it

Resolved, That the Nebraska District in convention memorialize Synod to put a process in place for development of a new hymnal or hymnal supplement; and be it further

Resolved , That the district memorialize Synod in convention to create a process to develop, distribute, and encourage the use of new hymnody.
