As a Valparaiso alumnus, I have observed the mission drift that has characterized many (formerly)
Christian institutions. I believe that Concordia University Texas can be a valued institution of faith formation in our Synod. I served Michigan on its State Board of Education, 2011–2018 (co-president, 2017–18). Previously, I had helped to organize a Detroit charter school, and as board president of another charter school,
