6-07 To Uphold Deep and Broad Study of Book of Concord in Synod Seminaries WHEREAS, The Book of Concord sets forth the Lutheran Confessions as faithful expositions of Holy Scripture and provides doctrinal clarity and unity for the Synod; and W HEREAS, Seminary formation integrates confessional study to prepare pastors who subscribe to the Lutheran Confessions without reservation; and WHEREAS, The Synod has consistently affirmed the Lutheran Confessions as the doctrinal basis for theology and practice within the Synod; and W HEREAS, The Formula of Concord identifies the Lutheran Confessions as the Church’s binding doctrinal standard ( FC Ep, Summary Content); therefore be it Resolved, That the Synod reaffirm its commitment to deep and broad study of the Book of Concord in its seminaries; and be it further Resolved, That the faculty of the Synod’s seminaries continue to integrate confessional theology throughout the curriculum; and be it further Resolved, That the congregations of the Synod be encouraged to support confessional education within the Synod; and be it finally Resolved, That the Synod give thanks to God for the confessional heritage entrusted to His Church.
