Personal Statement

I have primarily served as a pastor where our Synod has little footprint, a former Lutheran heartland where even the Commandments, Creed, and Lord’s Prayer have been forgotten or never learned. Proclaiming Christ’s words of eternal life in that context can be difficult, but it also presents opportunity for renewal. Our Synod can focus toward meeting that challenge, helping congregations both retain and make new disciples. Our goal should be
