As a commissioned church worker who works alongside several ordained ministers and is the son of an LCMS pastor, I am particularly aware of the need for pastors to serve our congregations and spread the Gospel. Seminary students deserve to be thoroughly prepared for the challenges of ministry in its various forms. We should work to remove perceived barriers while not diluting the world-class education and training provided at our seminaries, all while encouraging the next generation of church workers.
