Personal Statement
“Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matt. 20:28), so are we given “to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which [we]
have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Eph. 4:1–3). I pray the LCMS, submitting to Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions, will conserve and promote this unity of the true faith at home and abroad, seek to strengthen congregations and their members in faith toward God and love toward their neighbors, support and encourage pastors and other church workers, and walk together in opportunities for outreach and human care to the ends of the earth.
